About Poriyal Diaries

A friend of mine calls me a serial blogapreneur. I have over five blogs floating around the web with about 2-10 posts in each of them. I know its not ideal. I have found it impossible to stay committed to a blog. But last year I did a short stint at Italy and kept a blog to record my experiences. I think that's about the time that I (re)discovered my love for writing and I promised myself that I would keep at it even when I got back home to India. So here I am! I do hope I keep at this for a longer spell.

I am a sucker for omens...atleast the good ones. This is the first time that Blogger granted me the blog title at the first attempt. I hope it counts! Poriyal, by the way, is a Tamil word. It's actually a generic term given to a saute'd vegetable dish. Essentially, you can make of a poriyal out of any vegetable by frying it with mustard seeds, curry leaves, red chilli, garlic and salt. The final touch is a to garnish the dish with finely grated coconut. Some of the nicest things in life are so simple to do!
